About School & Sports Exams
What is a sports physical? Sports physicals make sure middle and high school students are able to play safely and lack medical conditions that would risk their health. They aren’t as intense as a normal physical that would be given to adults. With Rolln’Ready, you can protect student athletes while saving time and money.
Sports Physicals (K-12)
Regardless of the sport your child participates in, a sports physical is generally required to ensure the child is healthy and physically capable of participating and to minimize the risk of injury to your child during their participation. Regulations vary according to the rules of each state, school or the sport’s governing body. Sports physicals can be administered in a timely fashion by one of our certified Physician Assistants at any one of Rolln’Ready’s convenient locations.
So, what does a sports physical include? Sports physicals vary with what is required as it pertains to each individual sport. However, most require a review of your child’s immunization history and record as well as your primary care provider’s name and contact information. The test includes, but isn’t limited to, a check of vital signs, height and weight, prescription review, urine test, and blood pressure check.
School Physicals (K-12)
So, what does a back-to-school physical include? In addition to a review of your child’s immunization history and records, a physical will typically cover vital signs, height, weight, and BMI, review of medication, vision, and blood pressure. Back-to-school physicals can be administered in a timely fashion by one of our certified Physician Assistants at any one of Rolln’Ready’s convenient locations.
Camp Physicals
The exact requirements for camp physicals can vary from camp to camp, but all of them are designed to help staff be cognizant of any medical conditions that are prevalent in your family and act in an appropriate manner if your child needs medical attention. A test might check height and weight, confirm dietary restrictions, vision test, and review of vital signs, and many camps will also require immunization and doctor’s records.
